Previously, he worked as an economist at PwC’s London office, as a specialist in projects advising governments, multinational firms and trade bodies on the economic impacts of policy reforms and global risks. Earlier, Karlis worked in the Central Bank of Latvia, where he analysed global macroeconomic conditions, financial markets, and asset classes to support ECB pre-Governing Council discussions.
He holds degrees from Aberdeen and Warwick and is currently a PhD candidate at King’s Business School, researching sovereign debt sustainability and the role of central banks.
