SpaceX, the exploration company founded by the world’s richest man Elon Musk, moved 1,308 bitcoins (BTC) near the start of this week, according to Arkham Intelligence.

In its first transfer for three years, the company sent the $153 million worth of the original cryptocurrency to a fresh address, Akrham said in a 22 July post on X. The blockchain analytics provider questioned whether it could be an internal wallet reorganization or a preparation for a sale.

SpaceX would still retain 6,977 bitcoins, if that amount was subtracted from its previous total, according to Arkham.

Musk, owner of an estimated 42% of SpaceX, recently described fiat currencies as “hopeless”. As CEO and a shareholder of Tesla, he also continues to maintain a substantial corporate position for the EV maker with more than 11,500 bitcoins, according to bitcointreasuries.net.

Tesla’s stock has been recovering after plunging 36% during Q1 while Musk was serving as an advisor to President Trump. Must left that role in late May and has initiated a new “America Party” that he says would accept Bitcoin.

Bitcoin hit a new all-time high of more than $123,000 on 14 July. It was up 1.4% at $119,062 at 15:43 UTC on Tuesday.
