Ripple has received approval from the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to conduct crypto-related business activities in the country.

The regulator updated its registry on Friday to include Ripple Markets UK Ltd as a registered cryptoasset firm. The status confirms that the company is compliant with the UK’s rigorous anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorism financing rules.

The registration is a critical seal of legitimacy rather than a full banking license. The FCA’s "cryptoasset register" is notoriously difficult to enter. The vast majority of applicants are rejected or withdraw their applications due to failing to meet the agency's standards.

The win strengthens Ripple's foothold in London and provides a clear operational runway in a key financial hub. It also offers a stark contrast to the company's domestic challenges in the United States, where it has faced a years-long legal battle with the SEC.
