Venture capital firm Paradigm raised a $1.2bn fund to expand into artificial intelligence, robotics and other technologies as investment activity in digital assets weakens, Bloomberg reported on 8 Jul.
Paradigm, which had about $11.9bn in assets under management at the end of 2025, does not plan to stop investing in crypto. The company said digital assets remain an important focus even as the firm broadens its strategy.
Managing partner Matt Huang told Bloomberg that blockchain infrastructure is finding new uses alongside AI, particularly for autonomous agents that can use crypto rails to make online payments.
The VC firm, founded in 2018 as a crypto investor, has backed companies including prediction market Kalshi and co-created payments blockchain Tempo with Stripe. The firm is also building a prediction markets platform that Huang said will operate on top of existing venues rather than compete with them.
