Crypto Research Analyst

Lucas Hogland is a crypto research analyst with a top-down approach to digital asset markets. He was introduced to Bitcoin in 2017 and was drawn early to its technology, volatility, and open, non-sovereign design. After beginning his career in traditional finance, he shifted fully into crypto-focused research in early 2022.

His work starts with macro conditions, policy, liquidity, and structural incentives, before narrowing into on-chain data, market structure, and behavioral dynamics. While fundamentally driven, he views technical analysis as a practical tool for timing, validation, and understanding market reflexivity rather than as a standalone signal. His research blends macro context, on-chain metrics, derivatives positioning, and protocol-level fundamentals to identify regime shifts, adoption trends, and narrative transitions across crypto markets.

Lucas views Bitcoin and the broader crypto ecosystem as distinct societal use cases, with Bitcoin occupying a unique monetary role. He is a Bitcoin maximalist by conviction, while approaching the rest of crypto with a selective, utility-driven lens. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, has passed CFA Level I.

Lucas has been investing in crypto since 2017 and typically holds a selection of coins, most recently including BTC, ETH, SOL and LINK.
